Department Overview
The Psychiatric and Psychological departments provide services on both the Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses, with limited services at Woodwinds in Woodbury and Children's West in Minnetonka. Specific services include individual and family therapy, psychological assessment, neuropsychological assessment, and psychiatric evaluation and medication management (Available to children who are already patients of Children's mental health, pediatric, or subspecialty clinics.).
Position Summary Functions within the psychiatric APRN scope of practice. Requests consultation where appropriate. Examples include, but are not limited to nurse practitioner practice in outpatient, short stay, emergency department, urgent care and inpatient settings.
License/Certification/Registration- Required: *Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license AND *Current Minnesota Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
Education: Required: Successful completion of a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner master's or doctor of nursing practice degree program (or meet the criteria for waiver of a master's degree) within the specialty area of Psychiatric Mental Health.
Experience: * At least 500 hours of clinical experience within the last 36 months (may be fulfilled through graduate clinical hours AND * Documentation of demonstrated expertise in the area of specialization within the last 5 years Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Experience in basic clinical specialization * Excellent written and verbal skills * Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal relationship skills * Strong computer skills including EMR, Windows, Excel * Critical thinking skills * Ability to work autonomously:
