Applicants are invited to apply for a post-doctoral position in Department of Pharmacology at Tulane University School of Medicine. The position involves focusing on brain vasculature and mitochondria. We study aging and Alzheimer’s disease; therefore, the applicant is expected to have a background in cerebrovascular sciences. The position involves independently performing experiments (data collection and analysis) and working as part of a team comprised of faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate, and undergraduate students. Proven expertise in rodent surgical techniques (including performing surgeries, handling, and monitoring rodents) and two-photon imaging are critical. The applicant should be familiar with a variety of approaches including fluorescent microscopy, working with isolated vessels, immunofluorescence, western blot, and PCR demonstrated by the applicant’s peer-reviewed publications. The applicant should be able to collect and analyze data, compose manuscripts for publication, as well as for presentations.

Preference will be given to applicants with proven experience in research in cerebrovascular sciences.

Requirements: Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree
