Continuously improves departments and Schwab’s clinical quality, operational efficiency, and communication that fulfill the mission and values of Sinai Health System. Works with caregivers, physicians, managers and other team members to achieve goals and move the department and hospital forward. Seeks out and champions research, evidence- based practice, appreciative inquiry and PIE projects for all departments at SRH.
Works with SHS accreditation team and SRH team members to achieve successful accreditation by setting quality indicators and processes to improve outcomes. Contributes to the operating and capital budget planning and administration. Assists in the stewardship of departmental and organizational resources and functions as a liaison to develop team relationships.
Responsible to meet with Directors and assure education, orientation, competency development and clinical advancement meet all regularity and quality criteria. Provides consultation to personnel regarding conducting and coordinating educational experiences. The responsibilities encompass assuring for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical skills development, in-services and continuing education programs at the Unit and/or Department level.

Provides Supervision to: Quality Analyst, Nursing Educator and indirectly to nursing clinical staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Proactively stays informed and current on professional Rehabilitation Services practice and regulatory issues (JC, CMS, IDPA, Managed Care, CARF etc.) and seeks methods necessary to address new guidelines or preferred practice patterns; and implement.
Represents Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital departments as an interdisciplinary team member throughout the system on quality and accreditation issues and improvements.
Communicates regulatory practice initiatives and directives to staff in a clear and timely manner. Implements changes as necessary.
Assures Policies and Procedures specific to accreditation, compliance and regulatory practice are up to date, evidence-based and understood by caregivers.
Continuously looks for ways to maintain adherence to any and all practice issues. Implements Performance Improvement ( PI) initiatives to measure performance.
Performs chart reviews at random, develops a plan with the team to educate staff when practice, documentation does not meet standards.
Monitors and manages data and systems regarding conformance to achieve accreditation and compliance with regards to practices and regulatory requirements.
Plans and provides for orientation of new staff and onboarding process.
Designs educational experiences for caregivers on new Regulatory practices for Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital. Plans educational events for the nursing department.
Works with interdisciplinary departments to advance practice, care and standards in an ongoing manner.
Maintains documents and records in compliance with departmental, organizational and external agency requirements, i.e., in-service attendance, competency records/ skills checklists, etc.
Seeks out and champions research, appreciative inquiry and PIE projects for all departments at SRH.
Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM Education:
Graduate from accredited school of nursing.
MS/MSN preferred.
Specialty certification preferred.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
5 years in a leadership role, involving education, accreditation, compliance and/or quality.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Goal oriented with desire to grow professionally.
Demonstrated human resource/talent management abilities.
Demonstrated understanding of tenets of accreditation, compliance, competency and quality in the IRF and Rehabilitation arena.
Intermediate skill level in basic Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
REQUIRED LICENSES, Certificates, and REGISTRATIONS:
Current valid licensure as a Registered Nurse by the state of Illinois. If not currently licensed in Illinois, must be eligible for IL license if currently licensed in other state.
