Atlantic Health is Seeking a Diabetes Nurse Practitioner for a Great Opportunity in Essex County, New Jersey
Atlantic Health, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a Diabetes Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join a brand-new practice in South Orange, NJ. The practice's inpatient location is Overlook Medical Center, a nationally ranked mid-size hospital with a fully integrated Endocrine and Diabetes Center and Diabetes Education services.
Responsibilities
This role is ideal for an ambitious and skilled NP to work with a robust team to build a brand-new practice. The Diabetes Nurse Practitioner will provide specialty-level diabetes care in the outpatient and inpatient clinical setting. Candidates with 1-2 years of experience in an acute care and/or physician practice setting with diabetes patients are strongly preferred. Candidate will have one year to acquire the Diabetes Care and Education Specialist certification. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to be part of an evolving Diabetes program with Atlantic Health and receive mentorship from experienced providers in a collegial and collaborative environment.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
- Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
- ACLS and BLS certification required
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in an acute care and/or physician practice setting with diabetes patients preferred
- Must be a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or obtain certification within 1 year
- Must have excellent communication and computer skills
- Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
