***$20,000 Sign-on Bonus for eligible external candidates***The Neurology-Orthopedic-Spine unit at Deaconess hospital is a 30-bed unit located on the 9th floor. Our patient population primarily consists of post-op joint replacements, bone and muscle related problems as well as neurology and occasional medical overflow. 9 Tower offers the ability to experience and treat a wide variety of diagnoses including strokes, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injuries, traumatic fractures, planned joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and a variety of other medical conditions. We also have 4 continuous EEG rooms designed to continuously monitor for seizure activity. Deaconess holds the DNV Primary Plus Stroke center certification and is certified through the Joint Commission for our joint replacement program also known as Marshall Steele. This unit allows for growth and development of many new skills as a new graduate or any RN new to the specialties of neurology and orthopedics. Position Summary: The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, evaluating, and delegating the delivery of skilled patient care. The RN is directly accountable and responsible for the quality of care provided to patients and has the authority to direct care, provide education, seek resources at the unit/department level, and delegate appropriate tasks. The RN, using specialized knowledge, can perform the activities of administration, supervision, delegation and evaluation of nursing practice. The responsibility cannot be avoided by accepting the orders or direction of others. This position requires substantial specialized knowledge, judgement, and skill based upon the principles of biological, physiological, behavioral and sociological sciences, and requires critical thinking skills in making decisions regarding patient care, which includes knowledge and integration of relevant standards, resources, and data. The RN has continuous contact with physicians, patients, patient families/significant others, community agencies, patient care staff, and management.
Minimum Requirements: One year experience in Acute Care setting preferred Certification in specialty area preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Bachelors Degree in Nursing, or obtained within three years from the initial date of hire. Employees may be grandfathered if hired in or prior to January 2021 Current Registered Nurse Licensure in the State of Washington Current Health Care Provider level CPR BLS certification
