Since 1954, AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach (formerly Bert Fish Medical Center) has served as the community hospital for Southeast Volusia County. We offer a wide range of services, including a surgery program, radiology, an oncology center, cardiovascular services, a wound care center, outpatient diagnostic services, and one of the busiest emergency departments of any hospital our size.
The role you’ll contribute: Licensed Practical Nurse
The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for the coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients within a patient care unit under the supervision/direction of the Registered Nurse. The Nurse assists with implementation and administration of the nursing process relative to the medical and nursing plan of care. Uses the nursing skills of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in their patient care delivery. Primary function is the delivery of competent, compassionate, and cost-effective nursing care. This performance is following established policies, procedures, and protocols under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Director, Vice President of Clinical Services, and/or designee
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Provides patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture. Provides care according to scope of practice for an LPN. Conducts physician/nurse rounding and data gathering. Addresses all patient issues throughout shift including physical, mental, social and spiritual needs. Participates in education and discharge planning using established education materials.
Performs documents basic nursing procedures and medication administration
Collaborates with RN and makes appropriate nursing decisions and interventions. Interprets diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition. Recognizes and reports problems.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited practical school of nursing
Active Florida LPN license required
Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
IV Certification
Must have at least 1 year of LPN experience for Sign On Bonus (internals and rehires within 12 months are not eligible)
