Atlantic Health System is Seeking a Part-Time Neurocritical Care Nurse Practitioner for a Great Opportunity in Northern New Jersey
Atlantic Health System, one of New Jersey's largest non-profit healthcare networks, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join Atlantic Neuroscience Institute at Overlook Medical Center house to work day and night shifts. Rotation of shifts will be based upon the needs of the unit.
The neuroscience flagship of Atlantic Health System houses a 29-bed unit for neuroscience patients, as well as a 10-bed Neuroscience Critical Care Unit for patients recovering from stroke, brain surgery, seizures, nervous system infections, head trauma and spinal surgery.
The primary role of the Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for advance practice care delivery in collaboration with Neurocritical Care and Neurosurgical Teams. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, interpretation of diagnostic results, hemodynamic/ventilator management, assisting in bedside procedures, daily progress notes, patient/family education and meetings. This population includes but not limited to embolic and hemorrhagic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhages, brain tumors, seizures, and status epilepticus.
Master's degree required
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey
ACLS and BLS required
2+ years of neurocritical care experience as an NP preferred
Neuroscience experience is preferred
Must have excellent communication and computer skills
Strong work ethic and a team player who can work independently
