About North Vista Hospital

North Vista is located in North Las Vegas, Nevada. We strive to deliver quality medical care to the local community and all other visitors.

We have established a specialized 40-bed unit within our hospital to focus on geropsychiatry, an area of medicine that addresses the unique physical and emotional needs of older adults, and a 34-bed adult mental health unit to treat mental health needs for anyone 18 years and older.

Responsibilities

• Twenty-four-hour responsibility to supervise, coordinate and evaluate nursing care in the Behavioral Health unit, in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act, Standard of Practice, and facility policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the Program Director in the implementation of the philosophy and objectives for Behavioral Health.
• Supervise/coordinate all nursing activities to achieve and maintain efficient and competent nursing practices and promote harmonious relationships among personnel supervised, medical staff, patients, and internal customers.
• Define and prioritize goals for self and subordinates.
• Evaluate the performance of nursing personnel and nursing care and suggest modifications.
• Oversees the provision of patient care for adults and older adult patients.

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), required. 
• Five (5) years of Psychiatric Nursing experience.
• A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory /management experience necessary.
• BLS upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS Provider Certification preferred.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention Training within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.
