Memorial Sloan Ketterings Department of Neurosurgery is dedicated to providing comprehensive surgical care for adult and pediatric patients with primary and metastatic tumors of the central nervous system, as well as for MSK patients who have benign degenerative spine problems. The Multi-disciplinary Spine Tumor Service specializes in the care of patients with primary and metastatic tumors of the spine and spinal cord. With evaluating over 2500 spine tumors a year, our team approach to treatment brings together experts in highly specialized areas of cancer care, with the goal of creating the most effective individualized treatment plan for each patient to improve neurologic function and mobility, stabilize the spine, control local tumor growth, and ultimately improve quality of life. Our teams research interests are focused on longitudinal studies and prospective clinical trials designed to determine the optimal treatment of patients with spinal tumors( https://www.mskcc.org/departments/neurosurgery ).
