The VA Puget Sound Health Care System is currently recruiting for one full-time Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to practice as a Psychiatric ARNP in the Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) under delineated clinical privileges at the American Lake Division, Tacoma, WA. Duties and Responsibilities of the Nurse Practitioner include but are not limited to: Provides care to Mental Health patients via office visits, telehealth, etc. Independently implements treatment modalities, provides counseling, crisis intervention, safety planning or psychotherapy for individuals, families, and groups Assesses, treats, and evaluates a comprehensive range of health care problems, measures, and preventive health Prescribes medications and other treatments orders, conducts, and interprets laboratory, diagnostic studies, and procedures Utilizes community, social, and health resources for patient and family education Manages medications, orders diagnostic tests, and makes referrals to appropriate clinics in the VA system as well as in the community Participates in peer education and counseling Based on education and experience, may act as preceptor to staff/trainees Maintains knowledge of current practice, acts as a role model and mentor to other nurses Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Recruitment/Relocation Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized Benefits: Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases.
