The Registered Nurse / RN delivers advanced professional and technical nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with real or potential life threatening illnesses in support of and in collaboration with care directed by the medical staff. The Registered Nurse / RN accountable for the smooth, effective and efficient functioning of the Wound Healing clinic during the assigned shift with minimal direction from the director. Ensures that the departmentâ��s staff complies with the objectives and policies of the hospital and that age/developmentally appropriate care is given in accordance with unit standards. The Registered Nurse / RN collaborates with other disciplines in order to facilitate patient care. Communicates and collaborates with physicians and other members of the health team to provide consistent quality care for patients with wounds. The Registered Nurse / RN assists patients with wound healing modalities to achieve the level of independent functioning possible. The Registered Nurse / RN complies with the hospital and nursing philosophy and standards while performing job duties and responsibilities. Knowledge of adherence to monitoring of and compliance with all regulatory and licensing agency guidelines including but not limited to JCAHO, OSHA, AHCA, CMS, etc
One year of previous Wound care nursing experience in acute care setting highly preferred
Visual & hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition
Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment
Current FL State Registered Nurse Licensure
Current ACLS and BLS Certification
Wound Care Certification within one year of hire
