Nursing Operations Surgery Outpatient Clinic Mental Health Spinal Cord Injury Community Living Center The Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center is seeking innovative Licensed Practical Nurses to become part of our Healthcare Team. Incumbents will provide nursing care to Veteran patients with consideration to psychosocial, cultural, and age specific needs. He/she will demonstrate the knowledge and ability to provide a full range of practical nursing care to patients with a variety of physical and/or behavior problems, and knowledge of age specific differences from the adult or older population. Duties: - Work as part of RN/LPN care team - Administer medication according to policies and procedures. - Document observations, treatments, procedures, medications, etc., electronically. - Respond to secure messages - Perform vital signs and record - Competence with EKG, taking blood for glucometer, obtain lab specimen, screening of patients as needed, simple dressing change - Assist Providers with procedures - Conduct non-complex phone calls backs/follow-ups. - May be assigned to cross cover in other clinical areas within his/her competency level.
