The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center is recruiting for two highly qualified Registered Nurses for our VA Nursing Academic Partnership (VANAP) faculty. The VANAP faculty RN functions as a role model, educator, researcher, and provides leadership to all levels of nurses within RHJ VAMC. The RN provided educational support and leadership to academic nursing trainees and programs within the Medical Center and outlying clinics. The VANAP Faculty RN reports directly to the VANAP Nurse Manager and is responsible for delivery of education and training to nurse trainees within the RHJVAMC. This may include, but is not limited to, supporting the Post-Baccalaureate Nurse Residency, the Transition to Practice Nurse Residency, the Nursing VALOR program, and the clinical instruction of BSN students from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing while at the RHJVAMC. The faculty member may also participate in other academic educational activities, such as lecturing and college of nursing committee membership, based on the needs of the CON and consistent with the faculty member's education and competencies. VANAP Faculty are also faculty for the new nurse residency programs with for the RN Residency program and assume collective responsibility for the residency's didactic and clinical curriculum design and implementation. When not involved in VANAP responsibilities, the faculty member may be assigned to other responsibilities in support of professional nursing development of RHJVAMC nursing staff, in a role consistent with skills and competencies. S/he provides leadership at the hospital and unit level related to healthcare issues that influence the VHA mission, health care and policy development. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Overtime, including evenings, weekends and Federal Holidays, may be required. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
