This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19.This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Vaccine Clinic of the Hampton VA Medical Center. The Vaccine Clinic Registered Nurse provides direct staff and Veteran support in the Vaccine Clinic under the guidance of the Nurse Manager. The registered nurse provides care and counseling of persons in the promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness and injury based upon the nursing process. The following duties and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following: Screens all recipient's pre-vaccine for potential concerns as identified by facility guidelines Educates recipient and administers vaccine as indicated. Documents vaccine administration using appropriate medical record system. Monitors pre and post vaccination for potential side effects and refers for additional assessment/care as indicated. Collaborates effectively with all disciplines and levels of care regarding patient care. Compliance with various Isolation Precautions and Infection Control Guidelines Skills in time management, priority setting, assessment and urgent intervention are required for this position Other duties as assigned by Supervisor Work Schedule: Full Time, Temporary Tour of Duty: Day shift Monday through Friday, with some weekends periodically Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
