The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center is recruiting for a highly qualified Registered Nurse to be the Assistant Nurse Manager at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) located in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional nurse who demonstrates leadership in the application of the nursing process to patient care, organizational processes and/or systems, and improving outcomes at the program or service level. The focus of the individual's performance encompasses a combination of clinical, administrative, educational and research. The ANM performs at a level that affects services, service lines or the entire medical center. The ANM is responsible to Nurse Manager (NM) at the CBOC or Primary Care. In the absence of the NM, the ANM will provide clinical oversight for operations at the CBOC or Primary Care. He/she adheres to established policies, standards of care and standards of practice, demonstrates leadership when providing nursing care, and serves as a role model under the supervision of the NM. The ANM serves as a clinical preceptor for clinical staff, is accountable for utilizing critical thinking skills, and sound clinical/supervisory judgment to ensure positive patient outcomes, for demonstrating ethical practice, and for participating in performance improvement activities to improve the quality of care and ensure performance measures are met and/or exceeded. Position may entail other duties as assigned and travel between medical center and CBOC's. The ANM will ensure timely patient flow and access to the clinic and services. The ANM will make daily assignments and adjustments based on the workload, and cover unexpected absences in nursing staff providing direct patient care when needed at least 5O% of the time. This person will be required to obtain any specialize training and education to maintain specific nursing care at the clinic. The ANM will be an extension to the NM and will work for the common goals. This person will work with training and development to improve all performance metric to include but not limited to customer service and quality metric. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 0800 - 1630. Overtime, including evenings, weekends and Federal Holidays, may be required Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
