The Oklahoma City VA Health Care System has employment opportunity for a Nurse Manager who can provide world class leadership and training within nursing operations. He/ She will oversee subordinates personnel to ensure excellent care is being offered to our Veterans. Providing interdisciplinary approach to high quality, cost effective, and customer-focused health care. Able to handle internal and external issues within the department while disseminating information in a timely manner to staff. Nurse Manager is to perform professional and administrative management of an area where patient care is provided by nursing as well as other Staff. Provide sound management and supervisory leadership and guidance to the unit. Responsibly and effectively manage resources including personnel (scheduling, leave use, overtime, compensatory time), equipment, and space Assure nursing practice is congruent with professional and regulatory standards Develop and implement evidence and outcome based and strategic plans for his/her unit. Serve as a contributing member of Medical Center, VISN, national, and/or community committees. Communicate and interact appropriately and courteously with internal and external customers. Maintain confidentiality of written, electronic, and verbal patient/employee information. Work and function within a safe manner including infection control and operation of equipment. Work Schedule: Rotating shift for this position is classified as primarily day shifts, with some unscheduled/occasional extended hours, holidays, nights or weekends as required.
