The Medicine Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who is administratively responsible and accountability to the 4B Nurse Manager of a defined area of organized nursing services or resident care unit within the Central Virginia VA Health Care System. This position is located in the Medical/Surgical Unit 4B at the Richmond, Virginia VA Medical Center Facility. The Staff Nurse applies the nursing process to systems at the unit level to improve care. He/she is accountable for adhering to established policies, standards of care, and standards of practice. The Clinical responsibilities duties include, but are not limited to: - Provision of nursing care to patients including patient assessment and evaluation - Administration of medications - Assists in procedures - Provides patient education - Interdisciplinary care planning. - Care coordination and documentation of care delivered - Collaborates across all service lines and actively develops and manages collaborative partnerships with physicians, other clinicians, and works with Nursing services. Work Schedule: Rotating shifts, every other weekend and holidays. Management reserves the right to determine and/or change the tour of duty.
