The registered nurse assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. He/ She considers all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the Interdisciplinary Team. Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs. Under supervision, responsibilities include nursing care provided to assigned patients with arterial lines, Swanz Ganz, and critical drips. Additional responsibilities include analyzing cardiac strips, interpretation of cardiac strips, and recognition of abnormal lab values and documentation of the same. The staff nurse serves as a coach and mentor for new staff assigned to the MICU. The staff nurse is accountable to the Nurse Manager for implementation of the overall standards of nursing practice in the Intensive Care Unit. Work Schedule: 0730 to 2000 or 0730 to 1600 rotation with 1530 to 2400. Subject to change based on agency needs. NOTE: MICU RN's Tour of Duty is: 1930 to 8am rotating with 1130 am to midnight Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
