University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) is looking for a dynamic Leader to join our team as Director of Endoscopy (Director), to oversees our Center for Diagnostics and Advanced Endoscopy. UMC has invested in state-of-the-art technology, recruited skilled nurses and partnered with board-certified physician experts to create the region’s most advanced gastroenterology facility in El Paso.
The experience of our highly skilled team is unmatched in the region and has quickly become a regional referral center for gastroenterology across West Texas and Southern New Mexico. UMC is also home to the only Level I Trauma Center within a 250-mile radius and the first and only Comprehensive Stroke and Level I Stroke Center.
The Director is responsible for directing nursing care and all related clinical activities of the endoscopy, pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative clinical areas, according to the policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives of the Endoscopy department. Education/Work Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Master degree in Nursing Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field also required; or must obtain within two years of being in the position.
Five years of management experience required; preferably in a hospital setting. Strong background in Endoscopy processes and procedures.
Current license from Texas State Board of Nursing Examiners required.
Current CPR Training Program.
Demonstrated supervisory skills, i.e., ability to provide team leadership, to role model professional, customer service behavior, and to build effective work teams required.
Effective facilitator and initiative oriented.
Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to professionally manage interactions with difficult people and/or difficult situations.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal and communication and interpersonal skills required.
Proven ability to negotiate and mediate, bringing, together diverse perspectives with beneficial outcomes.
Advanced knowledge of factors affecting delivery of patient care services and ability to lead the development and implementation of organizational changes to address strategic initiatives and opportunities to improve patient care and nursing practice.
Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities.
Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish).
