Microbiology Supervisor, Full Time, Day Shift, Abrazo Central Campus Performs analysis on body fluids and exudates from hospital in-patients and out-patients to provide information for diagnosing and combating diseases. Updates procedures manual, checks quality control of each procedure and of each shift. Oversees the performance of other employees, checks linearities, statistics, send data to be evaluated and to be compared with other laboratories. Performs and/or review the CAP surveys of the section. Maintains required standards of accreditation.
Skills and Abilities: Ability to perform and to teach students in the threshold and practical aspect of all procedures of the department. Knowledge and understanding of the work flow in the laboratory. Manual dexterity. Good oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications:
Education Required: Bachelor (BS, BA) in clinical laboratory sciences area or any related field
Certificates Required: ASCP, NCA or equivalent, which meets CLIA 88 criteria. Preferred Specialty areas
Experience Required: 5 years related experience, 5 years supervisory Preferred: Experience in multi-hospital system
Skills Required: Team building, systems thinking, complex problem solving, negotiating and influencing, change and conflict management, data analysis, coaching and mentoring, strategic planning, business strategy development. Current CPR training. Preferred: Basic Human Resources Management, interpersonal communication
Knowledge Required: Quality improvement process, related health care practices and standards, regulatory and accreditation
