Abrazo Scottsdale Campus (located at AZ-51 and Bell Road in Phoenix) is a 136-bed full-service acute care community-based hospital which has provided excellent comprehensive medical care to patients in the northeastern region of metro Phoenix for more than 30 years. Laboratory Assistant III, Full Time, Day Shift, Abrazo Scottsdale Campus
Performs blood specimen collection, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens; will perform CLIA waived laboratory tests, as requested. Will process anatomic pathology and cytology specimens; assists pathologists and histotechs, as needed. Will supervise or lead lab assistant I and II positions, as requested.
Completes prioritization, receipt, registration and distribution of specimens. Has responsibility for send out/reference lab shipping, tracking and billing. Will perform waived testing, as requested. Will assist with processing of anatomic pathology specimens including preparation of microscopic tissue slides, staining and specimen management, as requested.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Associates degree in laboratory or medical related field from an accredited institution
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years of laboratory experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar.
