The COVID-19 Telehealth Nurse Triage Call Center is actively delivering exemplary care in order to ensure patients receive the right care, at the right time, in the right place. We are seeking a prn Registered Nurse to join the Telehealth Nurse Triage Team. This position is responsible form an aging incoming COVID-19 related patient calls in order to coordinate and expedite care safely and appropriately.
Ideal applicants will possess a strong clinical foundation, knowledge of and appropriate application of the nursing process in order to prioritize information, treatment and evaluation of patient status. Individuals who are passionate about delivering exemplary care to our patients, focusing on optimal patient experience, improving outcomes, ongoing research, and the education and development of telehealth nursing staff are encouraged to apply.
This position is located at the PDC Engagement Center, 4825 Creekstone Drive in Durham, NC.
Provide nursing triage, assessment and education to patients via telephone interactions and secure messaging. Plan, provide and document evidence based professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process, in accordance with relevant policies and procedures, under the supervision of the nurse manager and Engagement Center Leadership.
Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of unlicensed care providers (schedulers, Medical Assistants and Staff Assistants)
Participate in entity level performance improvement activities, work culture events, continuing education and meetings.

Electronic Health Record experience (EPIC experience preferred)

Work requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date.
Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required. At a manager's discretion, employees with 6 months of experience who are exceptional performers may be eligible for this level.
Degrees, Licensures, Certifications
Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. BLS required.
