This position is responsible for the integration of processes to include coordination/management of infection prevention surveillance data abstraction and analysis of data leadership and regulatory reporting and staff education; and the organizing planning directing and evaluation of the services provided. Has a strong focus on Performance Improvement activities to include root cause analysis risk assessments and outbreak investigation. Manages infection control activities for the acute care setting in a level 2 trauma center; surgical settings which includes 3 Ambulatory Surgery Centers; sterile processing; outpatient settings that include specialty practices with high level disinfection and sterilization procedures; imaging/diagnostic centers rehabilitation settings; including Riverside Behavioral Health Center. Provides leadership direction and mentorship/support to the staffing needs for the designated specialty area(s). As a Clinical Expert ensures the provision of clinically competent services by validating staff competency in the provision of a comprehensive range of services/care in accordance with standards of excellence age-specific and cultural sensitivity established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans.

A 450-bed facility, Riverside Regional Medical Center is the Virginia Peninsulas most comprehensive medical facility combining the most recent computerized medical technology with a healing environment. The Pavilion is a 250,000 sq. ft., $107 million, 3-story addition to Riverside Regional Medical Center, which opened in 2013. This acute care facility provides a regional cancer care center, the Peninsula regions only comprehensive stroke center, the areas only open-heart surgery program, the regions only Level II Trauma Center, and a cornerstone neurosciences program that includes the Chesapeake, Riverside and University of Virginia Radiosurgery Center.

- Masters Degree in Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Public Health or related field.
- 10 years of clinical experience required.
- 3 years of Infection Prevention experience required.
- 5 years of management experience required.
- Registered Nurse in position must have valid VA nursing license.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required.
