The Rehabilitation Institute offers comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation services for people with brain injury, stroke, orthopedic, neurologic and other conditions that require rehabilitation in the hospital prior to discharge or following an injury or illness. The St. Mary's Rehabilitation Institute has received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for its general inpatient rehabilitation program, brain injury inpatient program and stroke inpatient rehabilitation.
The Nurse Manager reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and the Rehabilitation Program Director, providing leadership for nursing practice in this 23-bed specialized unit. The Nurse Manager:
Demonstrates commitment to excellence. Identifies and implements new, or cutting edge programs, processes and/or approaches that improve organizational efficiency, outcomes, and performance. Utilizes best practices in developing Quality initiatives. Ensures that areas of responsibility are in constant state of regulatory readiness. Complies with organization/department policies and procedures; takes initiative to update/change as necessary. Measured through value based purchasing, HCAHPS, policies, etc.
Assesses current staff educational needs. Develops structures and processes within the department to improve employee knowledge, skills and abilities. Utilizes best practices to positively impact Staff education and competencies. Measured through competency documentation and education plan.
Demonstrates commitment to employee satisfaction by taking specific steps to create a positive work experience for self and others. Actively and effectively “manages up” and communicates successes. Demonstrates creativity and consistency in recognizing and rewarding staff. Measured through staff satisfaction and turnover.
Participates in patient care when needed (vital signs, start and maintain IV's, give patient medications, install necessary equipment, make rounds with physicians, etc.) meeting the basic RN competency.
Ensures delivery of appropriate, high quality patient care as measured through patient and physician satisfaction surveys and benchmarking with other facilities.
Current RN licensure in the state of Oklahoma required.
BSN or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Minimum three (3) years experience in a subacute rehabilitation environment.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of EMR and business-related software.
