Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Reports To: Operations Director
Purpose of Position: The individual filling this position will be at a career juncture that takes their prior clinical expertise and applies it to a consulting setting wherein they lead a small nuclear team of administrative personnel and are responsible for project management of a portion of the company’s caseload/consulting projects. He/she will ensure timely completion and delivery of quality oriented reports through oversight and execution of the steps of a well-honed nursing process, from a consultative perspective, that includes client, patient, provider and expert healthcare professional interface.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Management of the steps essential to complete case projects (e.g., communication with clients regarding project scope and timelines; execution of process steps; troubleshooting case needs; construction of treatment plans; quality assurance of project reports; case tracking and management to timelines; etc)
Coordination and completion of: medical record reviews, telephonic patient assessments, collateral interviews, provider correspondence and follow up, deposition review/summarization, preliminary and final long term treatment plan construction
Direction of team members in the areas of care and cost research and other administrative duties as necessitated in respect to completion of case projects
Communication with clients, medical experts, treating physicians/providers, and ancillary healthcare professionals as it relates to provision of Life Care Plan and/or Case Management care needs specific to individual patients
Identification and coordination of appropriate community/care resources for patients and families, when and where appropriate
Provision of assistance with deposition and trial preparation, as indicated
Fielding of case project-related questions posed by clients, providers, experts, patients/family, internal personnel, etc., in a courteous manner
Working cooperatively with the President and OD to ensure completion of projects in a timely, quality-oriented manner
Maintaining accurate contemporaneous documentation and time tracking of all case project endeavors, tasks, and activities
Contributing to the solvency of Roughan and Associates’ business through adequate productivity
Participation in internal meetings/conferences as deemed appropriate by Roughan and Associates’ management team
• Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
• Experience with coordination of patient care along the treatment continuum (i.e., ER, Specialty Units, Rehabilitation, Discharge Planning, Home Care)
• Prior specific expertise in critical care, case management, rehabilitation and/or life care planning a plus
• Ability to project a positive image of the company to clients and constituents
• Ability to work independently in a highly organized and efficient manner in a fast paced, time sensitive environment
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work well with team members/peers
• Thorough understanding of, and adeptness with use of PCs, common Microsoft Office suite and internet search features
• Demonstrated ability and proficiency in written, oral, and computer communication skills
