Provides 24 hour accountability for patient care delivery in the Transitional Care Unit. Ensures that quality appropriate nursing care is delivered to all patients on his/her nursing unit in accordance with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the Transitional Care Unit. Assists with the development of patient care standards, orientation and continuing education. Evaluates staff performance in accordance with organizational policies. Assures nursing budgets and expenses are maintained. Participates in nursing quality assurance. Maintains unit administration including scheduling and maintains of supplies and equipment. Uses and understands the principles of growth and development to assess each patient's specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN required.
Current New Jersey R.N. license.
Minimum 3-5 years nursing experience in sub-acute or LTC setting. One year of recent nursing management experience highly preferred..
Maintains required BLS Heart Saver/Health Care Provider course completion status.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Organizational ability, nurse management and leadership skills. Demonstrated clinical expertise in area.
