The Director of Nursing Hospital Based Ambulatory Care provides administrative oversight in the development, organization, implementation and evaluation of Ambulatory Services (Family Practice Medicine, Women’s Services, Ambulatory Clinic, Maternal Fetal Medicine), in accordance with accepted practice and hospital policies and procedures.
Provides professional nursing leadership and administrative direction for nursing practice for nurses, including RNs, LPNs, and Medical Assistants, for multiple Ambulatory Care Services.
This includes personnel oversight, providing on- going Quality Improvement monitors, ensuring current standards are met and ensuring that the skills and educational needs of the staff are met.
The Director of Nursing is responsible for the quality of patient care.
The Director Of Nursing ensures that safe patient care is provided by qualified, competent, patient care staff to all patients who present to the clinics
Adopt and implement innovative and evidence-based nursing practice to improve patient and team outcomes.
Recruit, select, mentor, retain and empower nursing staff to deliver excellent care.
Ensure the nursing staff and inter-professional teams remain in compliance with professional development and regulatory standards.
Maintain and healthy, collaborative, and innovative team environment.
Mentor and coordinate interdisciplinary teams.
Updates policies and procedures in line with evidence-based practice and regulator standards.
Achieves financial objectives by adhering to annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting hospital and nursing division's philosophies and standards of care; enforcing adherence to state board of nursing and state nurse practice act requirements and to other governing agency regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. BS/ BSN Required.
Current licensure by the New Jersey Board of Nursing
