The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic-clinician track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with a focus on Spinal cord injury and disease. Responsibilities include working closely with other surgical and non-surgical teams to provide coordinated interdisciplinary care for patients in both inpatient and outpatient care settings. Candidate must be Board Certified or Board Eligible. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care.
We are seeking candidates interested in expanding our services in partnership with surgical subspecialists and the allied rehabilitative teams across the Penn Medicine Health System (including the Pennsylvania Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine) and the Michael J. Crescenz (Philadelphia) Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Such candidates must have excellent clinical training, well-refined interpersonal skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to furthering our clinical services and advancing our academic missions. Candidates should bring to this position expertise through special experiences or additional fellowship training in spinal cord injury medicine.
Selected candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills and leadership abilities to effectively lead our interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams. As an academic faculty member, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide outstanding teaching and mentoring for Penn medical students and residents as well as allied professionals.
