The nurse administrator is responsible for the overall management and coordination of functions within a division of Nursing. The nurse administrator holds the accountability to manage within the context of the organization as a whole, and to transform organizational values into daily operations yielding an efficient, effective, and caring organization. This includes management of designated clinical nursing practice and management of programs, systems, and services that are evidence based and support the clinical practice of nursing. Responsibilities are accomplished based on Mayo Clinicâ??s vision, mission, and values. The nurse administrator is responsible to develop, implement, maintain, and evaluate policies, programs, and services related to assigned functions. The nurse administrator participates in assessing the environment, forecasting trends, transmitting values, communicating ideas, coaching and mentoring others, managing resources, and assuring that Nursingâ??s core values are implemented.
This position is for a Nurse Administrator for Surgical Services which includes the Operating Room Perianesthesia areas, and Preoperative Evaluation Clinic. Our practice includes 23 operating rooms that provide the setting for multiple surgical procedures, including but not limited to Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgery and Transplant. We use the best of modern equipment and advanced technologies to create an environment that merges art of healing with the science of medicine.
Requirements include Master's degree in Nursing or a Bachelorâ??s degree in Nursing with a Masterâ??s degree in business or a health-related field. Minimum of three to five years in nursing service administration and/or nursing management role with line management responsibilities. Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of Nursing.
Additional qualifications include Previous surgical experience strongly preferred. Previous experience in clinical practice role. Doctoral Degree â?? DNP or PhD in Nursing preferred.
