The Clinical Improvement Manager provides regulatory, education, clinical improvement and informatics support (RECIS) to designated centers. This role is an expert resource and partner providing ongoing support with quality patient outcomes, training and education, and auditing for compliance with Satellite Healthcare's (SHC) policies, procedures (P&P) and protocols.
The Clinical Improvement Manager will work collaboratively with the Territory Directors, Preceptors, clinical management and their teams to assist and facilitate the implementation process of corporate initiatives, development and implementation of quality improvement plans.
The Clinical Improvement Manager will organize center outreach activities as identified and prioritized by the Clinical Support Services (CSS) team. The Clinical Improvement Manager will serve as support educator and an expert in quality improvement.
Other key responsibilities will include participation in center quality meetings. This position offers ongoing support and development for clinical management and Preceptors. This role is involved in the recommendation process for Preceptor selection, ongoing training and competency check-off and skill development. The Clinical Improvement Manager provides in-servicing, monitoring and education of all other clinical staff for adherence to current P&P. The Clinical Improvement Manager also communicates and shares quality improvement best practices in order to meet organizational goals.

Perform center flash audits for clinical P&P practices to promote compliance and identify educational opportunities
Assist with implementation, training and auditing of new or revised P&P and/or protocols
Makes recommendations when new knowledge indicates a need for new or revised P&P
Participates in new/acquired center survey readiness, mock surveys, auditing and associated training and action plans, as needed
Serve as corporate representative in centers during licensing, certification and/or DHS visits as needed
Participate as needed with acquired centers in the assessment of current practices and identify opportunities for improvement (staffing, competencies, equipment, etc.)
In collaboration with Education, train and educate staff including clinical management and Preceptors as needed through clinical practice auditing of core business initiatives, P&Ps and protocol adherence
Promotes regular center self-auditing
Collaboratively support and participate in identifying, developing, piloting, and implementing training for Medical Clinical Affairs initiatives
Support training in Satellite systems (SPIN, SPIN Station, clinical P&Ps and protocols); provide necessary training to implement for acquired centers
Review quality measures monthly for assigned territory; provide recommendations and support to Territory Director and clinical management that will support sustained quality improvement outcomes
Attend Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings or review meeting minutes to support Continuous Quality Improvement activity and plans
Assist in identifying and developing new processes/systems to support clinical improvement and patient safety workflow
Identify and share best practices among centers in a timely manner; provide direction to center team members in utilization of resources to identify and resolve quality improvement challenges
Track and utilize tools to assist in root cause analysis (RCA) as identified in QAPI project implementation
Identify and provide timely communication of findings from outreach visits to Territory Directors, clinical management and CSS Team
Provide timely submission of outreach reports within 7 days of visit
Provide auditing and guidance to employees regarding infection control policies and procedures, in collaboration and communication with Safety and Infection Control management
Audit electronic health records (EHR) to ensure accurate and complete data entry of patient clinical plans and infection control data
Review deficient findings with clinical management and Territory Director and offer recommendations
Responsible for driving the Satellite Healthcare culture through values and customer service standards
Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers
Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication
Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner
Minimum Qualifications Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
Education: Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Experience: One (1) year nursing management experience; Three (3) years nephrology nursing dialysis experience required; a combination of in-center, acute, Peritoneal (PD) and Home Hemodialysis (HHD) preferred
License/Certification: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice; current CPR/AED certification; CNN/CDN preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience in corporate quality improvement methodology and techniques
Flexibility in scheduling and ability to frequently travel
Ability to prioritize and adapt based on changing priorities
Ability to proactively identify and analyze issues in the workplace and identify and implement solutions collaboratively
In-depth understanding of center operations and regulatory requirements for ESRD facilities
Solid reasoning, critical thinking, and problem solving abilities
Ability to attend corporate and center meetings
Strong communication skills; ability to read, write, speak, understand and satisfactorily communicate with others in English in person, over the phone and via email
