The Director of Strategic Initiatives and Analytics, in the department of Quality and Safety and under the Office of the Chief Quality Officer, executes strategic planning for the implementation of Programs to reach milestones in Quality & Safety, Patient Experience and Financial Stewardship, as outlined by selected program directives and defined by the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer. Programs include, and are not limited to, Care Across the Continuum, Choosing Wisely, High Value Care, and Government Programs (e.g. PRIME, EQM, QIP).
Additionally, the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Analytics establishes systems and standards for all related Programs, maximizing current systems and providing vision for the future; develops and maintains a coordinated approach to all programs among the inpatient, outpatient and transitional care domains, including linkages with the greater Sacramento community; provides vision, leadership and direction to Programs staff, offering expert support to the various program and project committees and clinical departments within the UC Davis Medical Center.
Director of Strategic Initiatives and Analytics
Master's Degree in health related field with 7+ years of healthcare experience.
Three to five years progressive experience with process improvement methodologies, program implementation, analytical work and database management.
3+ years of progressive experience in a management or leadership role within a hospital or health system. Project management skills, knowledge and experience with proven project management methodologies.
Excellent project management skills; excellent communication presentation, analytical and report writing skills.
Skills to lead diverse, multidisciplinary teams from project conception through implementation and monitoring.
Highly proficient in all software applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Access) and database applications.
Substantial experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
Discretion, confidentiality, tact, and ability to deal with sensitive issues.
5-10 years of University of California experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrate understanding of UC medical center administration, patient care services and policies.
Knowledge of clinical quality improvement processes
Knowledge of medical terminology
Knowledge of information systems
