SummitRidge Hospital provides quality behavioral health and addiction treatment services in Lawrenceville, GA, approximately 30 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. Registered Nurses provide caring and professional inpatient, outpatient and support services to adults and adolescents suffering from psychiatric or addictive disorders. Additionally, the Geriatric unit provides acute care for seniors in psychiatric crisis. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experiencedÂ Assistant Director of NursingÂ with recent behavioral health leadership experience. Responsibilities include the management and evaluation of clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery.Â Participates in maintaining a system for determining patient requirements for nursing care on the basis of demonstrated patient needs, appropriate nursing intervention, and priority of care.Â Ensures that qualified, competent personnel are available to meet patient care needs.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
1.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Develops and sustains and environment conducive to excellence in patient care by: patient satisfaction and patient/family responses to therapeutic interventions; evaluating the processes, resources, and patient care delivery system to assure that appropriate nursing care is available for all patients.
2.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Ensures that patient care is consistent with current standards of medical and nursing practice by ongoing assessment of staff competence.
3.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Facilitates and supports the integration of new clinical documentation processes.
4.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Participates and/or facilitates departmental teams and performance improvement initiatives.
5.Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Accountable for the effective and efficient use of human resources in the provision of patient care by: planning for appropriate skill mix to support the delivery of patient care utilizing staff matrix and/or national and industry standards as guidelines; adjusting staffing/skill mix as needed based on census, staff competence and patient acuity level; utilizing appropriate skills and tools in recruiting, interviewing, selecting and retaining staff.
