Position Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing Operations, maintains 24-hour accountability for the delivery of quality, cost-effective services of the Acute Rehabilitation Unit in compliance with all regulatory and licensing standards. Assists with establishing standards for delivery of services, scope and evaluation of standards. Recommends purchase of capital equipment. Develops implements and evaluates a management plan, which includes financial, clinical quality, human resources and professional practice components with the Director of Operations. Oversees the daily flow and functions of the Acute Rehabilitation Unit of the department. Responsible for the assessment of the unit employees' educational needs. Ensures completeness of all clinical competencies, mandatory education programs, immunizations, performance evaluations, and any other required requirements by staff. Ensures all employees are competent to perform job functions on the unit. Interprets philosophy, goals, objectives, policies and procedures for all personnel, patients and the public. Sustains High Reliability.
Clinical Nurse Manager Acute Rehabilitation (SNERC) consistently acts as a patient and employee advocate. Improves quality of patient care and patient's perspective of their care as evidenced by HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems). Ensures that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times. Follows the American Nursing Association (ANA) Standards. Responsible for maintaining and initiating any nursing competencies required of the staff to care for the Acute Rehab patient. Responsible to take an active part in monitoring quality indicators and developing a PI plan on a monthly basis. May at times be asked to assist with Case Management of patients on the acute side. Verifies consultations/encounters performed by the Psychiatrist(s). Assists Medical Director/Psychiatrist in assessing potential admissions as requested.
Education: •RN required. •B.S. in Nursing required. •CRRN (Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse) •Masters in Nursing or other health care field preferred.
Experience: •Minimum of five years directly related experience. •Demonstrated competence with minimum of three years of relevant managerial experience.
