The PACU Day Surgery Registered Nurse manages individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
Current licensure in Alaska as Registered Nurse at time of hire. BLSP certification required at time of hire and ACLS and PALS within six months of employment. Required skills and experience include: one year clinical/hospital experience, plus two years recent operating room experience; demonstrated proficiency in acute care nursing; knowledge and skills to give age appropriate care in the preoperative and post-operative patient care settings; ability to manage multiple priorities; independent discretion and decision making; and ability to work with others effectively an efficiently in demanding OR environment.
