The Assistant Professor will work under the guidance and mentorship of Larry Young (Emory University & University of Tsukuba). Young Lab East will be integrated with Sonoko Ogawa’s Laboratory of Behavioral Neuroendocrinology. The Assistant Professor will be expected to apply for external funding. Interested applicants are encouraged contact Larry Young (email@example.com) for more details (include a CV with the inquiry) before submitting the full application. The full application should include a CV, a brief 1 pg research statement, a maximum of 5 representative publications, and three letters of recommendation. It will be also part of a larger Center for Social Neural Networks that will include several investigators across Japan interested in social behavior, oxytocin, and/or prairie voles. The lab will examine the neural and genetic mechanisms by which oxytocin m...odulates social cognition and behavior using various oxytocin receptor transgenic mice, DREADDs, optogenetics, etc. The Assistant professor should be semi-independent but will receive mentorship from Dr. Young via regular visits and by SKYPE. Salary and research funding is secure for 4.5 years. This is an ideal position for someone who wishes to be free of teaching and do the coolest science possible for a few years in preparation for a tenure track position.
